Basic Program
This program gives the individual a proper introduction to basic movement fundamentals that are necessary to succeed in daily life activities and human movement. Some people design training programs around body parts. A good alternative to this is to design programs around the fundamental human movements. This approach treats the body as one piece and keeps the focus not on muscles, but their functional by-product: MOVEMENT.
Each of these workouts is based upon the premise that there are a few movements that are foundational to normal human existence. These workouts are designed for people looking for “minimalist style” full body workouts that train large movements as opposed to individual muscle groups. Minimalist training utilizes one exercise from each of the foundational movements per workout. Naturally, if you want to be a strong, athletic, healthy human, you train all of these foundational patterns. Here they are:
Jump, Squat, Hinge, Push, Pull, Lunge, Brace/Core
If you follow these movement patterns in your training, you are already doing better than most people who are blindly searching and training to become "fit". Now this program might start out basic, but you'll be surprised and humbled pretty quickly.
